Recently GGA’s founding principal Steve Johnston participated in the 2012 Golf Business Canada Conference & Trade Show hosted by the National Golf Course Owners Association at the Deerhurst Resort in the beautiful Muskoka region of Ontario.
The conference offered a comprehensive look into the state of the Canadian golf industry and provided attendees with in-depth educational sessions and valuable networking opportunities aimed at helping attendees prepare for the coming 2013 season.
Steve served as a panelist for the “State of the Golf Industry” session and gave a presentation titled “Hit a Home Run with Operational Ratios” which focused on advising golf course owners and business operators how to appropriately calibrate operational metrics to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency. According to Steve, operational effectiveness can be increased through the use of precise Canadian metrics and he offered insight on how these can be used to self-monitor club efficiency. The use of precise operational metrics can lead to increased performance efficiency, increased profits, reduced losses, and a competitive advantage.
