Mat Rekalic joined GGA Partners in April 2024 as Vice President, Operations. In this multi-faceted role, Mat is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of GGA’s operational performance.

Mat was most recently a Director at Mastercard, where he led strategy for Canada. His responsibilities included partnering with senior leadership to develop the long-term strategy while serving as the regional lead for product pipeline development, enterprise risk management, M&A, and competitive intelligence. Mat also managed a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including a $500M+ investment application with the Government of Canada.

Prior to Mastercard, Mat held progressively senior roles at KPMG, advising clients by applying Lean Six Sigma principles to identify and prioritize their operational challenges. Noteworthy engagements included developing and implementing an enterprise-wide Lean Management System for a major Canadian bank and redesigning the grant-making process for a $1.4B Canadian foundation in the international development sector.

In addition to obtaining an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, and a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Mat earned his certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mat has a deep passion for all things golf, from golf course architecture to equipment and custom fitting. When not on the golf course, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
