John Weir, a proven business executive, is a Director, EMEA with GGA Partners.

A golf professional by trade, John developed his interest in club ownership and management during a four-year spell in America. After spending time at prestigious private members clubs and five years in resort management in Europe for Hyatt International, John returned to the UK and co-founded Crown Golf in 1993, which grew to became the largest owner operator of golf operations in Europe.

John’s more than thirty years of knowledge and experience has focused on providing financial and business solutions for golf clubs, hospitality organizations, restaurants, fitness entities, water sport, equestrian and tennis centres, as well as commercial and residential development.

His work has encompassed mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and business valuation, turnaround strategy, planning and development along with governance reviews, commercial restructuring and witness advise. With a proven record of change management, he has corporate experience to PLC level and has managed teams of up to 1500 employees.

An advisor, mentor and senior management consultant to local government, HNWI’s, public and private companies he has personal experience of over fifty acquisitions and disposals in the golf and leisure sector across Europe.

John is a former board member of England Golf and Chairman of the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa.
