Bio

Miles Wade CBE is a Director, EMEA with GGA Partners.

Miles is a strategy, plans, crisis management, communications and governance expert who has had Chief Executive and Board experience of private, commercial and public sector organisations, built on his varied and diverse military and club career.

Before joining GGA Partners in 2022, Miles led the Royal Automobile Club, one of the foremost private members’ clubs in UK with a turnover of c.£50m, 17,000 members and 600 staff across two distinctly different clubhouses: an elegant Town Clubhouse in Pall Mall with three exceptional restaurants, 128 rooms and indoor sports facilities; and a substantial Country Clubhouse set in 350 acres in Epsom with two impressive golf courses, outdoor sports and newly-constructed family facilities.

During his eight years, Miles successfully devised and delivered the Club’s strategy and development plan, drawing upon his experience as the Army’s principal planner, a role that required rigorous analysis and diplomatic and persuasive stakeholder management skills. This resulted in a transformation of the Club’s operational and financial performance, raising standards of service, improving facilities and increasing member satisfaction.

This enabled a substantial refurbishment programme of every member facility from restaurants, rooms and bars – through the golf courses and sports facilities – to the back of house staff and logistic support services.  By simultaneously staging a variety of world-class cultural and sporting events, the Club’s ethos was strengthened and its reputation enhanced, equipping the Club to adapt swiftly to the Covid crisis.

Drawing on Miles’ strategic and crisis management experience from his time as Head of Army Media and Communications, Miles delivered an innovative and decisive response to the Covid pandemic, not only resulting in a more resilient and financially secure institution, but also with its current and future membership sustained.

As the Director of the Army Sailing Association Offshore Sailing Centre project, his experience in delivering high quality construction and sensitive renovation projects also equips him to advise on capital improvement programmes.
