Bio
As a Director at GGA, Evan Van Eerd works within the firm’s strategy and operations, as well as its transaction advisory practices. As a CPA, Evan has the background that lends itself to leading feasibility analysis, valuations, capital planning, budgeting support, financial planning and analysis as well as the financial modelling of project outcomes. This expertise allows him to develop strategic recommendations based on data-driven decision making, grounded in financial sustainability.
He excels at developing strategies for communities, golf courses, private clubs and resort assets, both established and greenfield, aligning the developed strategies to the business’s financial capabilities. Past the strategic phase, Evan supports clients implementing the identified strategic recommendations into a comprehensive business plan, developing or adjusting the operational, financial and, when required, membership plans necessary to increase asset value, club cohesion, and support long-term financial sustainability.
Evan is currently, or has recently, supported clients across North America, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America.
Prior to joining GGA in 2020, Evan started his career with BDO Canada, working in their accounting, audit and tax departments, supporting a number of clients, primarily in the construction, real estate, technology and sport industries. Evan is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
As a member of the GGA team, Evan has been a key contributor to the firm’s research and marketing efforts, having authored a number of articles, white papers and research reports.
Evan is an alumnus of McMaster University, graduating with bachelor’s degree in commerce. He is an avid golfer and is always looking for new places to travel. In the summers during his time at university, Evan served as an instructor at a junior golf camp in the Hamilton area.
